World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses like damage from PvE and crit chance.
For instance a weapon that has the upgrade template ending in % will gain 3% attack damage every time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).
The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the current level of the item. The cost increases with the item's level.
Components
Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, armor, and weapons to give them a stat boost or to add an additional effect. These can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors, trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades have unique cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment with a slot for them; the item must be at least upgraded to the blue level to allow a component to be applied. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they cannot be applied multiple times or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a specific kind of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet ascended or legendary equipment and some of the items that are not ascending back. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
item upgrades or suffix can be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it's applied to (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity, which allows players to make stronger versions of the equipment with less Upgrade Crystals than are required to achieve the same upgrade level through normal methods.
A boost upgrade can modify the attack or defense characteristics of a weapon or armor. These upgrades can be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. They can also be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or by purchasing them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals per.
Each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of an item will be available in the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their equipment even when they're not sure what will be improved following an update.
If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be expensive, and there is a substantial risk that the item may be obsolete or even break when it fails. A failure to upgrade can ruin the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the chance of failure. Some upgrades also give an additional bonus when they are reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade components that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of all nodes in their radius and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as you can to level 15.
In the endgame you'll find that the best way to improve your gear is to place Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and offer an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes much faster.
Glyphs, the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and replaced with no restrictions are the most commonly used. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.
Each Glyph has a specific range of values can enhance a stat by. The value is shown when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with an Glyph that is the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.
Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt has a chance to drop one of the various Glyphs, and there are also a few rare glyphs to be obtained as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.
Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs You will have to put them on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus which will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. Using the Glyph can boost all nodes connected to it, and you should aim to place your Glyphs close to key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. Druids, for instance, should place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might be able to place them near their most critical damage nodes.
Leveling
The upgrade system of items allows players to increase the stats of specific items by introducing upgraded components. This is known as "upping". Every upgradeable item has an amount that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled until they reach a maximum level of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires different components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.
Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained from completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab in the crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to level up the item. Once enough points are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When the player upgrades an item to a higher level, the original item is replaced with a new item of the same type. The same armor will be upgraded to an weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will also have its own set bonus. This could be a disadvantage in that the item could become more expensive even if you don't require it.
Upgrades to items can be rerolled, if the player has enough tokens in order to do this. This will cause the item to be exchanged for a new one, with a level 1 base and a totally different set of bonuses. This is a good idea, but should not be used frequently as it could waste resources.
Some upgrades can be rerolled multiple times, increasing their value and giving players the ability to alter their gear. A good example of this is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or swims like dolphins). This can be upgraded several times, each time raising the maximum roll by a factor of 10. This item can be extremely valuable in PvP as a perfectly rolled version of it could be worth between 20 and 50x its value if it is not upgraded.
Requirements
Item upgrading allows players to upgrade the quality of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC that upgrades items. The upgrade of armor set pieces will also increase the base defense of the item, and upgrading weapon equipment will increase the base damage and required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.
All items can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception of hero gear, which can be upgraded up to eight times. Each each time you upgrade an item, it has the chance to fail. The failure rate increases the more you exceed the maximum number of upgrades. Failures will cause the item to return to its original state, which requires the player to purchase more items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum number.
If an item is not able to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. Additionally the item will lose any gained bonuses such as crit chance, attack damage, as well as any other effects that are associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or reload speed). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.
Whenever an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded gains a crit chance increase that it will be applied prior to any attack damage increases. Premium items may have different upgrade requirements from regular gear. For example, they may need less sowels, however they may require more minerals and orons. The player will need to bring every piece of gear they want to upgrade to NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each equipment upgrade requires different amounts of the upgrade ingredients in addition to the cost listed above.
