Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Item upgrading allows players to enhance their weapons and equipment with new affixes, boosting its stats base or providing additional benefits. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory, and also access the kiln.
Items with weak bases, like rings, can be upgraded into a stronger base. Items with strong bases, such as eth Titans have little change in their stats.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be incorporated into weapons, armor, trinkets and gathering tools, providing an added bonus or impact when the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, retrieved as loot gathered by enemies or gotten from chests and missions. Some upgrades additionally have special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before you can upgrade.
To upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the user must select it, and then click the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will display on the right-hand side of the screen a preview showing the expected upgrade statistics and the necessary component or materials.
There are three kinds of upgrade components that are universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, like gems, are able to be placed on any type of equipment. They offer a lesser bonus than upgrade components that have a type limitation. Infusions, which can only be placed in ascended gear or legendary equipment, are the same as gems, but offer higher bonuses and are not able to be placed in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add the suffix at the end of item names. For example the addition of the suffix Glyph would make the staff wrapping of Minor Vigor a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.
In the case of upgrades to gather tools when a player swaps one glyph by another, the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. If you replace any other upgrade component, it will be destroyed, except for the inscriptions that can be freely swapped.
Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade process is different from previous versions in several key ways. Gear is now categorized in tracks and each item can be upgraded so many times before it is "leveled out." The upgrade costs increase with each level, however the materials required for upgrades do not. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a few important items to maximize their impact instead of spreading cost of upgrades across several items.
When an item is leveled out in this way, it is able to receive a new set of upgrade components, and an increase in the likelihood that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is referred to as the Artisan's Power and it resets to 0 in the event of failure, or increases when the upgrade is successful.
When a piece is upgraded to the maximum level, it will be able to receive an affix to increase its capabilities. The number of affixes available depends on the item's base type. For instance the rare or exclusive weapon with a base that is normal will have no more than two affixes to choose from and a legendary armor will have up to eight affixes available for it.
Each upgrade process requires a specific number of Flightstones or Crests, based on whether the item is at its current level and what slot it is in. Typically, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other kinds of equipment.
If an item fails to get to its maximum level The NPC will offer the player the option of transfer it to a different character and then re-infuse it with an upgrade set that is different. This process can take up to two hours, and costs the same amount of material. However, it has a lower chance of success.
Engineers employ a level to compare the height of the building to a known point, such as an existing benchmark. This process is known as a "level-loop." This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are constructed to a high level of safety and accuracy.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is a vital aspect of the game and can dramatically enhance an item's strength, damage, or other attributes. You can do this via the item menu or by pressing the Reroll button every time you upgrade an item. Rerolling is costly and should only be used in rare cases.
The game lets players recycle upgraded items, which can be used to acquire tokens for rerolls. These tokens are then used to upgrade the original item, or to upgrade another similar item. Recyclable items have a level gauge that shows how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The amount of level that has been filled is based on the rarity and upgrade cost of the item.
In the past, certain upgrade items had priority affixes which made them easier to roll for than other. It meant that you'd get the most crucial stats to your build more frequently than other items. This included stats like the armor's total armour, thorns, and diminished duration due to control or the weapon's bonus attack speed and strike chance.
This was changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same chance of rolling for each stat. This can be a good or bad thing depending on your requirements and expectations from your equipment.
Each upgraded item could come with a unique, fixed-value bonus that increases its strength by a certain percentage. These bonuses are added to the regular affixes. The more you upgrade your product, the greater the chance of receiving a unique bonus.
The game also includes various sets that offer a set-based bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are installed on an item. This is an excellent method to add lots of power to a particular character without spending lots of money.
Many players opt to reroll their equipment and weapons, especially in the beginning stages of the game. This is because rerolling can provide a much faster path to a powerful character, allowing them to reach higher levels and progress in the game more quickly.
Sets
Sets are collections that can be arranged in different ways. They can be different sizes, contain none of the elements, or contain a single element. They are useful for organizing data or separating information. They can also be useful in analyzing patterns. Sets can be classified in various ways, including size and shape.
There are a variety of set items to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Clicking the Upgrade button will display the attributes of the item and the required items to upgrade it. The attributes of the item will be displayed as well as any necessary items.
