World of Warcraft - Item Upgrade
The item upgrade feature allows players to increase the item level for weapons that can be equipped or armor. This improves the stats and may also include buffs or rerolls to an affix.
It is important to remember that upgrading your magic and common gear isn't always worth the cost. Rare and unique gear will quickly surpass upgraded magic and common equipment.

Cost
When a player decides to upgrade an item, they have to spend Gold to do so. The cost to upgrade an item varies based on the item's current status and the type of upgrade. For example upgrading a weapon will generally be less expensive than upgrading armor because weapons require lower levels of skill. The amount of Gold required increases when the item is upgraded to the next level.
An upgraded item will also come with increased stats, which can boost its performance in many ways. This can include increasing its attack power or critical strike chance. Additionally, an upgraded item may be able to offer additional bonuses to its equipped unit. These upgrades are able to increase the overall strength of a group or a single unit, and may be a major influence on the gameplay.
The NPC for upgrading items can be located in the game. These NPCs are located in major questing areas, or capital cities. You can also find item-upgraders by visiting dungeons with high-level bosses and talking to NPCs in garrisons of your faction.
The item upgrade system in World of Warcraft provides players with the ability to upgrade the levels of armor, weapons and trinkets. The process is similar to the process used for gear reforging in Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor, but instead of using the appropriate currency players need to visit an NPC for upgrading items to complete the process.
Upgrades to items can be costly, especially when it concerns armor and weapons. Based on the upgrade path you select, each level increase will cost Crests or Valorstones. The total cost could be prohibitive for players who do not have the resources or are unwilling to grind them.
Fortunately the game lets players reroll an upgraded item with an exclusive tool within the menu for items. This option will replace the upgraded item with the level 1 version which offers different bonus effects. This can be useful to improve the roll of items that have already been upgraded. However, it can be a waste of time.
Requirements
Upgrading is the process of increasing the item level of the items that are equippable such as armor, weapons and trinkets. This can increase their power, making them more powerful in combat. Players can upgrade their gear by paying the appropriate currency at an upgrader. However, they should be aware that certain upgrades have special requirements.
The first upgrades increase the base item's stats by one level, however later upgrades provide more significant enhancements. Upgrades from level 3 to 6 will boost the weapon's damage by two levels. In addition the upgraded item will get bonus stats, which is based on the tier it's in. The bonus is a combination of a substat that is guaranteed and an undetermined stat that will change from upgrade to upgrade.
Reroll Tokens can be used to reroll an item which has been upgraded. The new item will feature a different set of extra bonuses and a lower base item level. The rerolled item will also have different requirements for dexterity and strength. It is important to remember that the rerolled item will not keep its original strength or any of its wasted resource.
Some upgraded items are only able to be rerolled if the original item was a Unique Epic, Rare, or Rare. Some exceptional items can also be allowed to be rerolled, but their original stats will be replaced with an uninvolved bonus. Rerolling an item that is Rare item will result in a Normal version the same type, while the rerolling of an Epic item will result in an elite version of the same type.
A newly upgraded item could have extra modifiers, which can further increase its stats and improve its performance. These additional modifiers are not included in the upgrade price. They can be acquired through doing quests, purchasing them at the Trading Post or from other players. Additionally, they can be earned by completing certain missions in the game.
To upgrade an item of equipment, you need to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine. You will require Power Dices depending on the item. (Dice 6 is dropped by monsters 21+, Giants and Bosses; Dice 12 is dropped by Bosses). Additionally, you will require different quantities of Minerals and Erons.
Time is a factor.
Upgrades to items can be used to boost the performance of your equipment and ship without the need to upgrade them. Upgrades aren't cheap but they can be an effective method to boost your stats and not have to spend as much time in battle. It's crucial to know the costs and benefits before making the investment of time or money.
Each upgrade boosts an item's base stat by a specific amount and also offers a chance for a bonus stat increase. The random substat can be anything from a minor boost to a massive boost. Focus on the items that are best in slot first. They will give you a more profit for your investment.
You can see the time it takes to complete an upgrade by opening your inventory and selecting the weapon, ship or other accessory. The upgrade window will display the estimated completion time and the progress. In certain cases, you may be able to speed up the process of upgrading by applying an Glyph.
Black Lion Salvage or Ascended Salvage offer a salvage kit that allows you to salvage all or a portion upgrade components. This is not the case for legendary equipment or upgrades that can be recovered with an Upgrade extractor or by returning the item to the Karma dealer.
Rewards
The upgrading of items provides players with money and a variety of items. Each upgrade also has a chance to grant an random stat bonus. The bonus value will vary for every upgrade, and is usually more expensive for rarer items. Players can use a Great Vault search to see whether an item can be upgraded prior to spending tickets. The search can help determine whether the item is in a certain class and whether the player could benefit from an upgrade.
During the upgrade, the item will slowly move closer to the next level, but not always reach the fully upgraded bar. This process uses Growthstones and Sollant, but there is a ten percent chance to obtain an item that is fully upgraded in only one cycle of growth. The higher the levels an item gains the more stat value will be, and the more items can be upgraded.
Upgrade components can be inserted into trinkets, armor, and weapons to give an attribute bonus or to create a unique effect when the equipment is worn. Some upgrade components also come with cosmetic effects. Players can acquire upgrade items by crafting, purchasing from vendors or on the Trading Post, looting, or receiving as rewards. Players can also recover upgraded items using an Upgrade extractor or salvaging using a salvage of a higher tier kit. Glyphs that are placed on gathering tools can be freely swapped.
The player can transform an item into a different upgradeable item by selecting it and pressing the green button an arrow for reroll. This will change the layout of the item's window, and allow players to choose up to six items to "recycle". The item will be replaced with a level 1 item. Recycled items will not keep their status or the amount of resources used to upgrade them.
An item's maximum upgrade level is determined by its quality and tier. Common items can be upgraded up to the maximum level of six while Rare and Epic items can be upgraded up to level nine. Upgrades to items are added to the item's base statistics, meaning that they do not increase after a certain amount.
