Path of Exile Item Upgrades
The performance of a variety of Path of Exile items can be improved by upgrading them. They can be a great source of damage and more AD or even more attaches.
Rare-grade equipment is usually superior to upgraded Common or Magic gear due to their higher requirements.
Armor
Armor upgrades can be applied to both weapon and armor items. They improve the performance of the item they are connected to. Armor upgrades can be found in the world of the game and are available from Blacksmiths on bonfires. Alternatively, they can also be salvaged from items with upgrade components in them using an expert or greater salvage kit.
The amount of damage an armored item or weapon will absorb is contingent on the extent of its upgrades. Upgrading a piece of armor to the highest upgrade level will boost the damage it absorbs. It is important to note that this will increase the weight of the armor, therefore it should be heavier.
There are many different kinds of armor upgrades that are available in the game. Each has a different effect. For item upgrading , some upgrades will grant the armor a certain number of health points while others make it lighter and stronger. The type of armor upgrade that an item can receive will be identified by the name of the upgrade as shown in the table below.
A few upgrades are magic or a hybrid of magic and technology, which is indicated by the "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Certain upgrades also require fees to use. These are identified as "Charges" entries in the table. These charges are either continuously updated or never expire depending on the upgrade.
Iron Ore is the cheapest method to upgrade your armor. It can be found by exploring and looting small loot chests. Titanium is more expensive, but is readily available in the smelters of Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, such as the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be applied to armor pieces that are of high-level. These upgrades can give significant improvements in performance and are worth the cost, especially for single-handed weapons.
The player should be aware that upgrading a piece to the max upgrade level will increase its defense value. However, it can also affect the speed and agility of the piece. Weapons

The Jeweler can create the highest levels of gems apart from the rare and legendary ones which require certain levels to gain. Jewels can be substituted with another one without damaging the original. However you can only swap out a jewel in an item of equipment once.
Utilizing more jewels in a move will make it more smooth, and is often performed to enhance the aesthetics of the movement. The jewels can also enhance performance and create a harder surface than steel, so that the repeated friction from pivots does not cause damage to them.
In addition to the above upgrades, the player can also acquire glyphs for their weapons and shields from a Glyphmaster. They offer a small benefit and can be swapped out at any time however they aren't guaranteed to drop as loot.
